Event Description
Review Date : October 31, 2016
Embassy Review : I would like to share my review and experience of my interview. Our case complete was on last of may 2016 and interview was on October 2016 last. For all who are for interview at AUH Embassy only one advice – Be ready to be patient ,as per previous reviews of others and my own experience believe me it takes lot of time for interview to get scheduled at AUH Embassy. Min wait period from CC – 5 MONTHS or more.

After much of waiting day finally the day came.... As I had my relative staying in AUH I went and stayed the night there but there are many cheap hotel near embassy the one very near is NOVOTEL which can be seen from Embassy premises. As I had my own car I reached Embassy around 6.There is lot of free parking available can park near any embassy parking lot. There were two person already in wait when I reached. There will be long wooden bench to sit ,one side for immigrant visa and another for non immigrant visa. Its better to reach two hour ahead of your appointment. Around 7.05 two security guards came and asked to line up,keep you passport and interview letter ready with you. There will another lady coming out to check your passport and interview letter when you are in line. You are not allowed to bring any king of bags to interview cause the security will ask you to keep inside your car or will not allow you to enter as one of person who came for interview was sent back.
U will reach a small counter where a lady will ask your interview letter and passport and will input some information into her computer, then you have to enter through a metal door where there is security check some what similar like to that in airport. You have to hand over your mobile or any keys with you, in return you will be given a token where u can take back your items when you come back. Then u have to wait in a waiting room for some time. Once the security guy gives permission there is another metal door form where you exit and go to another building. Once you enter the building through the door a lady will be standing there who will check your interview letter and will issue you a token with number for your turn. For immigrant visa you have to sit near counter 6 to 12.After like 20 min COS started to come to the counters (around 7.50). They will call you according to your token number. When my turn came CO asked me to provide my interview letter and passport, after which she went in and bought my file which was sent to nvc. She opened the file went through it and asked me couple of questions while noting something down in her computer. She asked first to confirm my mothers name and fathers name, then where my wife is living in united states then after inputing something in computer and looking at some of my papers she asked to give my medical report & photo then asked to be seated back ,wait for finger print scan at the last counter. This will be longest wait I think ..all will have at the Embassy. First time this will be the place where u can see people with heads high as no one has their mobile with them and looking and smiling at each other )).its a good feel but some what boring too. When your number is called ..wait in line and complete the finger print at the last counter which will only take around 2 min. Then I was asked to wait until CO calls me for interview. Another one hour wait and finally my token was called. You have to put you hands on a fingerprint scanner and CO will state that u promise that what ever u say is true. After that looking something in her computer asked me Where I was working and what is kind of work?Where my wife was?Why was she not working. As she was pregnant and had baby I said had to look after baby. Asked for my baby's birth certificate. Then she congratulated me saying my visa is approved and gave a white slip and a form with instruction how to pay green card fees. All this took in about 2 min was very short and none of my documents was asked. She said I can collect my passport with in 2 to 3 working days as per courier delivery I had made on line with embassy. That was all. Took my valuables and left. When I reached home checked nvc visa status was showing Administrative processing. Next day when I checked morning it showed – Issued.

Its was one long journey and I say its worth the wait. I know some times this process makes us go insane with most of the time waiting in between through each paper work and processing and lot of questions & doubts on how to do this and dat and have to depend lot on line. I thank VJ for making things easier for users like me.
Two are three helpful things while preparing for interview

1.Best hospital to do medicals will be NMC,as it is the cheapest among others in the list. Have to book appointment in advance and you can collect your packet in 2 working days.

2.You don't need to travel to your home country to obtain Police clearance certificate (I don't know if this is applicable to all country )you can obtain your police clearance of home country form you local consulate in UAE

3.No need to worry if you are going for CR1 as u have provided all necessary documents to prove your relation ship. Only just make sure u know all the information u have mentioned in the papers you filed. Stay calm smile, neatly dress & only answer to question being asked.

4.I had with me all extra docs like wedding album, photos, company joining letters ….(keep ready to go extra mile if CO asks for some proof )

Rating : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
