Comments : We were notified by text on 1/4/19 of receipt and number but never got a notification by letter. The website couldn't recognize our number so on 3/1/19 I called USCIS. I was told they would look I to it and send me a replacement 797 notice. If we needed it sooner we could make an info pass appointment. We decided to send a request for an appointment. They called my husband on 3/5/19 to set an appointment to get his I-551 stamp the next day. We were in and out of the immigration office in 30 minutes. They kept his green card and said the stamp was all he needed.

Event Description
Review Date : March 26, 2017
Embassy Review : We arrived a bit early expecting to have to wait in line but there was not one. We were asked to check in at 2:15 for our 2:30 appointment. We sat in the waiting room for about 30 minutes gauging the officers calling other people back hoping we got a "happy person". But they all seemed pleasant enough. When were were called a nice older woman lead us back to her office. She explained to us the process and that she would mostly be talking to my husband. He asked if he would be able to ask me for clarification if he got confused and she said it was no problem. She went over some basic questions from the application and asked him to verify our basic information. It didn't seem like an interview. More like a conversation. She asked for his divorce information, birth certificate and our passports. She stated my affidavit of support was good and didn't ask for any other financial documents. She casually asked out our wedding, where we had traveled, and if we had any pictures. I gave her about 20 pictures. She picked about 8 to keep for copies. The pictures she kept were group pictures with friends and family as well as pictures of us on vacation. She said she planned on approving our application but if anything went wrong we would get notice within 14 day. She said she liked us as a couple and told us what to expect and how to prepare for the ROC.
All in all it was a very pleasant experience. We were nervous for no reason.
Harassment Level : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
