Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 17, 2019
Embassy Review : We drove from Santiago to the Capital the night before our interview and stayed at a nearby hotel. Our interview was set for 9:00 am. We arrived at the Consulate at 4:30 am and already there was a line of people waiting for the doors to open. The doors opened at 8:00 am and we went through the metal detectors took a number and sat down. When our number was called we went up to a window and the interviewer greeted us and pulled out our file. He asked us only a few questions. "How long had we been together?" He went through a few of our pictures and asked "where were they taken?" I have two kids so he was asked what were my kids names and ages? He has four kids and I was asked their names and ages. He asked how we met. He was very nice and friendly The interview was very short and he said "Approved". The interview was no longer than 15 minutes. We were out of there before 10 am!!

Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.

** Not all cases are transfered
