Embassy Review : My appointment was at 9am. I arrived about 40 minutes before my appointment and went up to the window bypassing all the long lines. The bloke at the front then sent me back to the queue, I insisted a few times that I was there for a spousal visa, but he just waved me off.
I luckily had my friend with me, so she stayed in the queue while I sought out another security person. She told me to go to the top of the non immigrant queue. The staff there looked at my letter, apologised and told me to wait with them. I was through security within 2 minutes.

I waited about 15 minute before I went to the first window. I pointed out a mistake that NVC had made, they had put me down for an IR-1 even though we haven't been married 2 years yet. They thanked me and offered to do all my paperwork now for an August entry. So that I could enter the States on an IR-1 visa and avoid the adjustment paperwork. I explained that I couldn't afford another medical and that I didn't want to separate my son and husband for a further 5 months. So I should get a CR-1, as per usual.
After submitting my originals, photos and fingerprints I sat down again.

It was very busy, I don't think there were enough seats for everybody. Less than 10 minutes later I went to the second window. He asked how I met my husband. He congratulated is on having a child and said everything seems to be working out nicely for us. He handed back my originals and said I was approved and could go home. Less than 2 minutes I think.

It's been a long slog of 14 months because NVC messed up. So I walked out in a daze.
Only after I left the embassy did I realise that I had no idea what happens next, I was given no further instructions. I wish he'd explained more about entering the States.

But all in all it was painless.
