Embassy Review : I wanted to do this review because while on my process with all this reading other peoples experiences was so helpful!

Interview day finally came we were nervous but more because at the end of the day one of the most important decision that has to do with the rest of your life relies on someone whom knows nothing of your relationship other than some stated statements and documents. I have to say the day was not as bad the wait i think is the most dreadful part of it.

We drove early from Santiago to the capital we arrived at about 8:00 as we passed the consulate there was different lines formed. We ended up parking in a lot for RD$200 pesos, up the road from there was another one which said RD$100 pesos. These parking areas are not affiliated with the consulate. Since we got there early we went to eat at a cafeteria that was right around the parking lot. At around 8:50 or 9:00 we headed to the consulate, our appt. was for 10:00 a.m. There was a sign for 10:00 appt. for Visas de Residencia which is where we stood at. We were in line for i want to say maybe 30 minutes than they began letting us in security was fast since i had read that its best you take nothing but the paper work needed, that's exactly how we did it. My fiancee cousin was waiting outside so he had cell phones and all other stuff. We were ushered straight into the consulate building and given the lucky number 340. the number on the monitors at the time was 210. It was annoying to find two seats together as people were so dumb and would take extra seating for their documents. After a few minutes looking around we finally got a seat together. Than the waiting game began, i want to say we waited to be called to the first window for what felt like eternity it was about 11:30 when they called us in to give in all the original documents such as passport, birth certificate, divorce papers, police certificate, medical exam, VAC confirmation, and interview letter. Than they gave us a pamphlet on domestic abuse and told us to read it as we were going to be quested on it later during out interview. It was super long and to tell you the truth we both just didn't have the effort to read it so we kinda skimmed through it. After being seated again for what didn't feel as long maybe an hour or so they called us to lucky # 17. We had a young woman like in her 30's very Americanized yet Dominican cultured she looked very stern and ready for business. When we arrived to the window and she was trying to swore us in they kept interrupting Thur a loud speaker which she was super frustrated with and had to keep restarting but it was kinda good because it kind of broke the ice with the stern face.

The interview was not too bad we were asked about 32 questions (the next morning we sat and wrote all of them down) which i think was ALOT! she never asked neither of us what language she just assumed and started talking to us in Spanish since we both understand it we just continued with it. The interview felt more like a conversation than straight up questions. It was actually simply questions about us and our relationship that as a legit couple you should know so it was easy. I won't write all of them because this will be ridiculously long but i will write some..

To him
How/when and where and what day did you meet?
why was she at the dinner?
does your fiancee have kids, how many and age?
have you meet them?
Who proposed and where?
What is your fiancee job, where is it? what is the name of the company(which he couldn't say because its super hard to pronounce) What are her hours of work?
Where does she live? How much does she pay of rent? Does she live in apt or house? and it goes on and on.

To me
almost the same of the above and
what are his parents name? have i meet them ? where do they live?
How many brothers or sisters he has ? have i meet them ? what are their names? (my fiancees parents are separated and they have kids each they are too many i was honest and only gave a few name of the ones i knew)
where does he live ?
how many times i have travel? when was the last time?
and it goes on and on.

She asked us if we had picture i gave her a photo book i made Thur shutter fly she loved it, than she asked us questions there and she noticed i had tattoos and asked him that how many tattoos i had.

Do you understand the domestic violence pamphlet that you were given?

Than she typed something in the computer and and we heard the magical wordsssss felicidades su visa a sido aprobada bienvenido a los estados unidos de norte américa pow stamped (caso cerrado as my fiancee jokes about it) We hugged and kissed over and over !

Even though it was like an eternity of questions the interview was very relaxed and we joked a bit during the interview since like i said it felt more like a conversation than an interview process. It all took about 10 minutes or so very quick we were done and literary ran out of that place at like 12:45. It was my birthday the day before and even though we celebrated simply the night before this was the real Bday present and we stop at the first colmado and brought us three presidente's and began celebrating ASAP !!!

In preparation for the interview, we took questions from the wonderful VJ Posters and used them all. the night before we had his cousin interview us with all the questions we thought they might asked which were alot like the ones they did. We had a huge folder with soo many documents from my updated tax return for 2014, complete copy of packet sent to USCIS, work papers, pay stubs, bank account statements, text convos, whats app convos, Facebook convos, tango pics etc., All those papers never made it out of the folder.

I hope this helps because it helped me, reading reviews of other people experiences. if you have any more questions you can def. ask away

I'm just happy this part of the long long long long process is over and done with and that soon my fiancee would be here with us to finally to begin our life together how it should be! All in Gods hands and his will

Good Luck to All!!!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
