Consulate Review: Islamabad, Pakistan
Review Topic: IR-2 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 18, 2019
Embassy Review : It was terrible, lasted less than 5 minutes while we were 3 people, my mom, my sister and me. They refused right away, citing an issue and were giving our passports back then my dad had to intervine for some explanation and he told them to keep the passports at the embassy, but there was an issue with my mom’s case, thats why they were pissed. Handed us the infamous 221g green slip. Ruined our Islamabad trip, and we flew back to Karachi the same day. However, I was very impatient, since schools had winter vacations. My impatient ass ended up emailing the consular officer, secretly, against my dad’s will. I explain them, what happened with us at the interview, they replied the very next day, they said, there is an issue with your mum’s case, and we have to send it back to uscis to fix it, on e is it fixed we will issue the visa for your mom. And for us (the kids) they are holding it because we might not travel without our mom, but there isn’t any problem with kids applications. So, then I replied, we are old enough to travel on our own, and that was it, they issues the vis for me and my sister. We stated in the ap for 30 days, dec 09/13 to jan 10/14. It was mot that bad, however, we had to really fight for our mom, bastards made her wait an additional 2.5 years, then she got it in aug 2016.
Rating : Very Poor

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
