Embassy Review : I had my interview at 8:00 this morning and got APPROVED!

The whole thing turned out to be relatively simple and really not worth the sleepless night worrying about it! I got maybe half an hour in before my alarm went off at 5:00 (eurgh), but I am lucky enough to live only a couple of hours away from London, so at 5:50 I got on the train. After navigating the underground I arrived at Marble Arch underground at around 7:15.

When I got to the Embassy at 7:25 there was already a queue of about 30 people outside. Luckily this diminished a little as some people were sent away to the infamous 'Goulds Pharmacy' to store their phones and electronic items. I just decided not to take my phone- no problems there.

All I was asked for when entering the Embassy were my Passport and interview invitation letter from the Embassy.

Once I was in I got given my number and took a seat in the waiting room. It was only about 20 mins before I was called up to hand over my documents. The woman was lovely and I had everything I needed (win).
She asked me for:

-Passport and interview letter
-Birth Certificate (+ 1 copy)
-Police Certificate (+ 1 copy)
-Affidavit of support from my fiance.
-2 Visa style photographs of myself,
and she took my fingerprints.

And that was it. I was able to explain our financial situation to her without any problems. I should add that I also handed over a summary of my own savings account, along with my fiance's information. This is what swung it for us. He is right on the threshold of the required amount for approval and has only been employed since August (2 months) as he was in England with me for two years prior to all this.

The next time I got called up was about 40 mins later. Another lovely American lady asked me the standard questions of how we met, how long ago, had I met his family etc. Easy stuff. She told me that it had been approved and I rather embarrassingly shed a little tear of joy. She swiftly gave me a tissue (bless her) and continued to tell me things... of which I am not sure. I was overwhelmed and apparently incapable of taking in any more information haha.

The gist was that I get it in 10 days or less and I'm not to open the brown envelope. javascript:emoticon('')

And that was it. I was out by 10 and sat in Starbucks smugly drinking a cup of tea.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
