Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 29, 2013
Embassy Review : Hey loves sorry for the late review but I have been busy celebrating!!!
First and foremost I want to thanks god for making all this possible, secondly my fiancé for being such an amazing person and lastly but not least my visajourney family, thanks for all the support and guidance.

So our interview was on Friday 04/19/2013 at 6:45am so we woke up and at 2am and started heading over to the capital by 2:45am. once we reached the capital these corny cops tried to stop us. seriously in DR you cant distinguish the real cops from the fake cops so my fiancé kept it moving but then they chased us and got really nasty with us but my fiancé has a uncle that is a bigg dog in the police department in Santiago and they got scared!!! smh... I swear you have to have patience with all these buscones!!! javascript:emoticon('')

Anyways back to the interview.
So we arrive at 4:45am and waited until 6:45am, that's when they started taking the interview letter and giving the tickets, our lucky number was 075. by 7am I was going through the security check and mistakenly I left a usb flash drive and my head phones so I went outside and gave it to my aunt that went with us and was back in the consulate by 7:20am. so my fiancé and me went and sat in front of the domex desk and I told my fiancé that I pictured us going there to pay the domex delivery fee lol. by 7:45 we were called to window 17 to handed in all the paper work, passport,ds156,ds156k ds230 pt1 and pt2, police certificate, banco popular receipt and the 2x2 pictures. then the lady told us to go pay the visa fee and go back to her. we went and sat down again and around 9:45 we were called to window 14 or 15 don't remember to take his finger prints. we sat down again and while waiting there anxiously I rubbed out the ink on the ticket lol.. but my fiancé and I prayed and that really relaxed us. so at 10:40am they called our number to window 23. we knew that the big moment was coming and we kissed each other and hold hands tightly.

when we reach the window the consular office was a young Asian female. we greeted her once we saw her and she was already handing us over one of the forms to sign it before she swore us in. she realized that and pulled back the form. then she swore us in and made us sign the form confirming that we are willing to marry each other within 90 days of my fiancé's arrival to the US.
WE WERE NEVER SEPARATED DURING THE INTERVIEW AND EVERYTHING WAS IN SPAINSH

she asked me
1.describe how did you guys meet?
2.do you have any pictures? (I created a shutteryfly pic book so damn adorable)it didn't fit through the window so she told me to flip the pages
she asked questions of who were some of the people in the book. like his mom, one of my fiancé's cousin and my dad.
3. how many times I have traveled per year to DR before I met my fiancé?
4. do I have family in DR.
5. what are our wedding plans
6. whats his mother's name

she asked my fiancé
1.does he have family in the US?
2.has he ever been arrested?
3. has anyone ever petitioned for him before?
4. has he ever traveled to the US
5. whats my dad's name?

then she flipped through the pages of our file and closed the file. (at this moment I was feeling good but you cant declared victory before winning the battle) and she started typing in the computer then she looked at us lol that was nerve racking and went back to typing more stuff in the computer. until she finally said the word I was so desperately wanting to hear FELICIDADES SU VISA A SIDO APPROVADA!!!!!!javascript:emoticon('')javascript:emoticon('')
javascript:emoticon('') WOWOWOWOW!!!!!! THE GREATEST FEELING EVER!!!! MY FIANCE AND I LITERALLY BURSTED OUT CRYING WE THANKED HER SO MUCH AND THEN SHE HAD US A THE GRREN SLIP TO PAY DOMEX AND THEN WE LEFT HAPPY AND WE KISSED IN BETWEEN THE TWO DOORS THEY HAVE TO GO TO THE INTERVIEW WINDOWS. THE INTERVIEW LITTERALLY LASTED NO MORE THAN 5 MINUTES WE FINISHED AT 10:45AM

We had to wait one hour to go pay domex and get our receipt but I didn't mind at all it was the happiest line I have ever had to dooo.javascript:emoticon('')

for the interview organized ourselves very good. we created a binder with everything and divided it by the forms we had to hand in, the financial documents, all the letters received from the USCIS and NVC and the last part all the evidence. it was huge and when we arrived to the interview window my fiancé pulled that huge binder out and we weren't asked for absolutely nothing. my advice is be prepared for anything even though you might think you are not going to need it.

well loves hope my review was a little helpful and wish all you love birds many many approvals and happiness kisses muahazz!!!!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
