We were approved on Monday 3rd Dec, so it's happy days all the way! :-D
I won't bore you with the details, as there is more than enough info on the procedures.
Took about 2 1/2 hours in all, and was very smooth, and professional. This was my third time there having gone for J1 visa's for Camp America, and a student visa, so I knew pretty much what to expect. Although you can't help being nervous, I would say just try and keep calm, as at this stage of the process, as long as you have you documents in order, you'd be more likely to get hit by a meteor than be denied!
Handed all my docs in, sat down for another hour or so, then got called to the window for the interview. He was a Asian-American man, and looked about the same age as me (25), and it was more like an upbeat conversation, than an interrogation. How did you guys meet, how long have you known one another etc more like chatting in a pub with a mate. Then he was like "Your visa has been approved, take your pink slip and go to the courier desk" I'm pretty sure I danced my way out of the embassy, and told my fiance the wonderful news!
This site has been a great source of information, and kudos to all those who help provide that information.
Good luck to the rest of you, and try not to worry so much- KEEP CALM, AND CARRY ON, and you'll be on your way to some very HAPPY DAYS! Whaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy! |

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the
USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
