Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : April 12, 2012
Embassy Review : First of all let me say my fiancee got approved with not one question asked believe it or not. Well let me give all of you the rundown. Got there at 530 am with probably 50 people in front which doesnt matter. My appt was for 645 and some people got there way after us were done in three hours. When you get there the guys with yellow vest give u a number and separate men n women to go thru security. Well got in and sat in the infamous metal benches people talk about. I thought people were over reacting but truthful you will walk out of there with lots of body aches. Well they first called us at 830 to give forms and pay the 210 dollar fee. I paid 420 for fact that i am bringing her son also. At 1030 got fingerprinted and then waited an eternity till 430 . We were second to the last person interviewed. Lots of people were done by 10 am that got there after us. Anyways at the end they called us in to window 19 and the guy just told my fiancee to sign the letter of oath and then im here waiting for questions and he just turned a few pages in our file and just said visa approved. I was dumb founded after i went night and day always printing new evidence and getting all organized. In my opinion they know your life before you even get in there. I traveled every month to see my fiance during our relationship of 8 mnths. So for all of you that do fraud they will know if you speak on phone or visit your fiance during suppose relationship. I know one couple that came out of window 11 /interrogation room/ was fraud because girl came crying out of there and suppose fiance didnt even try to calm her down or anything and during their wait you not once would c them hugging or anything. Also believe it or not they are watching you how you act in waiting room. Well that was my experience very exhausting long wait for a simple no questions asked happy ending.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
