Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : So we arrived at 450 am and there was already ppl in the line. We entered at 620 am and sat in the metal benches. Then at like 710 am we went to hand in the documents and right after we went to another window to pay the fee. Then like at 8am he went to get his fingerprints taken. After that we waited and waited and waited the whoooooole day til 3pm yes 3pm when only 4 couples where left and finally they called us. The consul asked me if i spoke english i told him yes then he asked me how did we meet, who proposed to who and asked for my passport. I answered him and gave him my passport. He took a look at the passport and handed it back to me. He started doing something on the computer and then he said to my fiance "su visa ha sido aprovada" and i was so happy i said thaaaaaaank youuuuuuu and my fiance said gracias and he then gave me a kiss!! lol it was a long day but we were so happy and excited afterwards, we didnt care we had been at the consulate for almost 12 hrs!

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
