Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : October 5, 2011
Embassy Review : our appointment was for 6:45 and we arrived at 6:40. We didn't have to wait in line because we went with our daughter and the people in the yellow info shirts told us to go in with out making the long line, just to seperate at the security area so we can go through the metal detectors. Once we were in our number was called within 10 minutes to window 19 to hand in paper work. A nice American lady asked us if we had children in common and asked to see their birth certificates. Then the sent us to pay the 210 dollars and bring her back the receipt. Then around 8:30 we were called to window 13 for his fingerprints. After he took his fingerprints the lady told us not to go far that we were going to be called again. They called us like 10 minutes later to window 24 i think it was. There was this young American guy once at the window the guy asked my fiancee if he has ever been in trouble with the law. My fiancee answered no then he said your all set your visa has been approved and sent us to go pay Domex. they didn't ask us any questions, they didn't ask for proof or the affidavit of support. My fiance and I have 2 kids together that is why I think everything went so smooth.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
