Entered US in NYC on a visa waiver, a few months later decided i would stay, got the run around with a lawyer, wasted a lot of monye, got a good lawyer finally, over stayed 2months, then applied to AOS with a great lawyer and the necessary funds, and paperwork ready. Took a while to do his taxes, and find a co-sponsor, but i think the over stay can be well explained so not too worries about that.
