Event Description
Review Date : February 12, 2019
Embassy Review : Our appointment was scheduled for 8am, we showed up at 7.50am, waited in the security line to get into the building. Very straightforward like being at the airport (take off shoes, belts, coats electronics etc). once into the building, we were directed to the 6th floor, within 2 minutes of sitting in the waiting area we were called to the interview.

We walked into a small office where the case officer swore us in ("tell the truth the whole truth so help you god"). Then, he took my picture/fingerprints for his files. Next, he asked us to present out wedding photos and any other documents that could support our marriage legitimacy (joint bills, life insurance, mortgage agreement/renters agreement). We presented this info and then he asked my wife a bunch of questions about meand our relationship, nothing too personal eg; my birth date, our address, what we did for new years eve 2018, the last trip we took together. He then threw my wife a curveball by asking her if she knew my cell number verbatim (of course she didnt, thats why we have cell phones with the number saved) So, my wife said something along the lines of "I dont know his number, if i need to call him the number is saved on my phone." The case officer then gave a sarcastic, "oh really? thats interesting, you dont know your husbands number." We assumed afterwards that his intention was to rattle us if the marriage wasnt legitimate, but my wife and I kind of looked at eachother and laughed it off.
After a few more minutes of him typing on the computer, he left the room and returned with two pieces of paper which turned out to be the approval letter, which highlighted the greencard would take 1-4 weeks to arrive in the mail. He congratulated us "I'm happy to approve your green card, your marriage is clearly legitimate blah blah blah have a good day and dont forget to file to lift conditions 90 days before the two year expiration of this conditional green card."

All in all, good experience, didnt take as long as we had anticipated.

Harassment Level : Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
