Embassy Review : My interview was scheduled for 8.00 am, got there a little after 7am and was the tenth in line. They started letting people in at just after 7.30. I went through the airport style check-point and into the embassy. Was issued I-903 ticket (3rd immigrant interview of the day). Sat down and tried to do a soduku but got way to distracted when they started calling out all the numbers. I was called up to the first window pretty quickly. It was a lady who was obviously in training as she had a supervisor so they were going through everything quite slowly. Birth certificate check plus copy, police certificate check plus copy, photos and the bit I was absolutely dreading the I-134. My finace not having any funds we could put on the I-134 had signed the form but left it blank where the salary and assets part was. We provided a letter of explanation of why he had not filed taxes and I had a whole bundle of my own financial information. They took a quick glance at the I-134 and when I tried to hand over my documents they said 'We don't need it for this type of visa'. SO for those of you are in a similar situation to what we were fear not, for the K-1 visas I think they really don't care about financials. Obviously you do need it for the AOS (which we have) but it was just the initial 100% of the poverty level x 5 which we were struggling with. Anyway I got told to sit back down and wait for my number to be called again. Got called up about half an hour later by a very smiley blond haired american lady. She was altogether very pleasant I took the oath and the interview mainly consisted of her going through my file and saying, so your fiance does this and that and he lives here and oh but his parents are where? But he is a dual citizen?.......And oh your going to live in San Francisco its my favourite city I just love that place.......and you want to work as this when you go over there? I just answered yes to most of the questions the only part I elaborated on was our wedding details. Then she said that she was going to go ahead and approve it at which point I thought I was going to cry but luckily held the tears back until I left the embassy! Altogether I cant believe how good an experience it was compared to what I was expecting. I leave a month tomorrow
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
