Arrived at Chicago to find incredibly long queues for immigration - day before Thanksgiving so I suppose it wasn't surprising! Got shunted around from queue to queue for a while then man at passport control asked me what my husband's job was. He just nodded when I told him and sent me through. Again, stood in long long queue and was then sent to a separate section where only one other new immigrant was waiting. I then got called up to the desk and received a little lecture on how I would have a review of my status in 18 months from my date of entry and if my marriage failed and I returned to the UK without letting the authorities know it would cause problems for me in the future to return to the States!! Other than that it was easy and I was through immigration in around two hours.
