Completely painless. I was told to wait in line for normal immigration despite seeing and asking if I should go to the immigration area at the end of the hall.
Once I got to the desk, the officer took my files, made a small computer entry then led me up to the desks at the end of the hall. There was one guy working through them, but was joined by a colleague soon afterwards. There were a few people waiting, but mostly those with kids.
After about 15 minutes I was called and asked where I was going, and my fiancées name. The officer then reminded me that the K1 was a single use visa and that it expired in 90 days. He also asked when the wedding was, stamped my passport, and my CBP baggage form and that was it.
I collected my bags, showed the CBP form to the officer who confirmed that things would be remaining with me, and I was out the door a little over an hour after I touched down.
DFW always has long baggage waits for international flights, so if you have a connection, plan well in advance. Otherwise, this was about as painless as it could be.
