My Italian husband and I waited in the US Citizens line together and every thing went fine. The officer checking passports collected our papers and even joked around with us. We were sent to sit down and wait in another line after he stamped my husband's passport, and were called after just 10 minutes. My husband had to sign a form, give a fingerprint, and we answered the only question they asked, "how long have you been married?". And that was it! His social security number arrived in a week.
