I could see my fiance and his family from baggage claim. The officer asked him several questions, such as would be asked at the embassy. So be prepared to be questioned. For reasons unknown, his family was then sent to a room and about 10 minutes later were allowed out. Then the customs officer gave us the once-over. I had to explain that my fiance was not bringing any money to support himself because I would be supporting him and that he did not need to support his family because they were returning to their home country. Although it was a hassle, we have to give O'Hare credit for getting us through everything in just an hour. It could have been much worse.
