My interview was on July 5th. My fiance and I arrived at the consulate about 6:45 and there were already 2 people in front of us. Within 15 minutes or so another 4 or 5 people arrived. By the time we were let in about 7:30 the line was almost to the corner. The 1st person in line was waiting for her whole family. She had a bunch of kids and a husband. By 7:30, the husband who had all the papers had still not arrived so they had to wait. This put me second in line. They checked our passport and confirmation email, then we got sent through security. We headed downstairs and waited near the elevator as close as we could to it. At 8 ish they allowed us all on the elevator. We tried to get to the back. Somehow another girl pushed her way through and was C1, then the girl who was first got C2 and I got C3. We were actually called up to the window first but since there are 4 windows all people between c 1-4 were called up at virtually the same time. The guy at my window took forever and we ended up being the last of the 4 windows done. At that window they asked for:
Passport, confirmation email, letter of intent, medical, police clearance, birth certificate, 1-134 and this past years tax returns and W2. Then they verified addresses and phone numbers, and took my fingerprints.
We then went to go and sat down. They only had one window open for interviews. As soon as we sat down the first person was coming out of the interview room. The next two ladies were done fairly quickly and then we were called up. He swore us in and then he asked the following questions:
1)First he verified that my fiance was the petitioner. He asked him what he did for a living.
2) Asked what I do for a living?
3) How we met?
4) Since we met online he asked what site.
5) He asked when we first met online.
6) Then he asked when we first met in person and where.
7) If I had ever been to visit my fiance in Minnesota.
8) If I ever had any trouble crossing the border.
9) Asked if I had any trouble with the law.
Then he said he was approving our petition, gave me the welcome to the USA letter and that was it. We were done about 9:15 or 9:20. Not bad!
