My interview was scheduled for June 28th at 8:00 a.m. I drove from London, Ontario and all was fine except my GPS identified the wrong street for the hotel and I ended up driving around for quite sometime before a man I accosted in a mall helped me reprogram it for the right location. I pre-booked a room at the Travelodge on Boul. Rene Levesque Ouest. When I arrived there was no real place to park while I checked in - difficult to say the least. They also had no parking available late in the afternoon so I had to park at a government spot several doors down the street and at a cost of $27 for the night. The room was fine but the bed was rock hard. In the morning I was up at the crack of dawn and at 5:00 a.m. was unable to get hot water in the shower after running the water for 20 minutes or so. I finally gave that up. They also have no restaurant except a cafe that operates from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.n. for breakfast only. I would not recommend the Travelodge except that it is only a couple of blocks from the Consulate.

I arrived at 6:09 a.m. and was the first there. The next person to arrive came at 6:15 - nice guy, married to a woman in New Jersey. Sorry, really can't remember his name but he is a VJ member. Slowly people arrived and we all had a good time chatting until 7:30 when security opened the doors. Having carefully read all the instructions and reviews written on Montreal, I had everything in order and was quick to get checked in. Waited right by the elevator until we call all go up. Wished everyone all the best and remarked that the one thing we all had in common was the fact we were here because we loved someone. That's a lovely thought to keep in mind while all are so nervous.

Got off the elevator and was assigned C-1, sat down and waited to be called. As you all know these are not called in order so a few calls later I went to window one where a lovely lady took all my documents and fingerprinted me. Smooth as glass - thanks to all the VJ reviews.

Later I was called to booth 9 and was sworn in by the lovely fellow with the bow tie. Had a great conversation with him including what my husband did, how we met, how I had run into some trouble crossing once because we misunderstood the difference between a VISA admission to the US and being there only under a passport. I don't remember any other questions he asked but the time went quickly and he then handed me my Welcome to America letter. You have no idea how exciting that moment is!!!

I was finished and out of the Consulate by 8:25 a.m.

As my interview was on the Thursday, followed by the long July 1st weekend, I received my Loomis documents on the Tuesday. Please note, on their website my waybill tracked my documents through several locations starting with Dorval. When they arrived in London the site repeatedly said "undeliverable". This worried me seriously so I phoned and found out that means the documents are there you just have to go and pick them up. I wish the site said "ready for pick-up" instead of "undeliverable". I have visions of the documents being sent back to Montreal because London wouldn't clear receipt of them LOL. So, if yours get to your city and it shows undeliverable - go pick em up!

I am sorry this is not more detailed but so many others have provided every minute detail that it seems redundant to do so here. What I must say is that if you read several months worth of reports, follow all the help and advice on this website you will sail through all processes without one single problem. VJ and the VJ members are absolutely the best friends you could ever hope for and I will continue to help others in my turn through this process. I trust the next several processes over the coming years will also go as smoothly as this whole experience has been. THANK YOU VJers! I am eternally grateful.
