Consulate / USCIS Member Review #9909

Ankara, Turkey Review on June 29, 2012:

forever waiting

Forever waiting

Rating:
Review Topic: K1 Visa

My fiancé and his daughter were at the embassy at 8:10 a.m. They were permitted to go inside at 8:40. They were told to sit down and wait for their number to be called. When their number was called after 15 minutes, they went to a desk and signed the forms. They had to wait again for about 15 minutes until their number was called again for fingerprinting. Their names were called 20 minutes later. The consular officer swore them in. They had to answer a lot of questions.
How did you meet?
What was she doing when you met 32 years ago?
When are you planning to get married?
What happened 32 years ago? Why did you break up?
Did you not see one another all these years?
How did you meet again after all these years?
How long did it take to decide to get married again?
Have you met her children?
What do they think about your engagement?
What does she do for a living?
When did she go to America?
Have you ever been to USA?
When, where?
Are you going to work in the US?
Did you buy your tickets, when is the wedding?
Do you talk on the phone every day, how can you afford it?
(When he told her that we use Magic Jack for communication, she was interested and asked how it worked and if we were happy with it)
He was told that they needed another sponsor for the visa and that it would take another week or so before he could receive the visas . She than asked a few questions to his daughter who is 19 years old.
Have you ever been to the US?
What do you do here, what school do you go to now?
What do you plan to do in America?
And they were told that visa was approved, there were no problems however the I134 and the other required documents had to be sent and as soon as they receive the documents and that the passports would be returned to them in 7 days.
We plan to send the documents to them via UPS on June 29th and hope to get it back by July 12th.
He also said that everyone was very polite, very nice and they were greeted by a smile, from the security to the interviewing officer.
