My fiancee and I arrived at the embassy at 8:30, got through the security gates (we knew to leave all electronic devices behind beforehand) and were promptly directed to the Immigrant Visa Unit. There were only two other people waiting in the room, so we hoped for a fast service
We went to registration (window 8), had to show the letter, received a number. Then after a few minutes we got called to another window (no. 7) to have all the documents collected. The lady asked if we were legally free to marry, did we plan on getting married before arriving to the U.S and did I have any problems with the law.
We received the cashier voucher (Form IV/F02) and sat down instructed to wait with the payment until all our data is in the system and we do the biometrics. 10 minutes or so have passed and I got my fingerprints taken and were instructed to pay the fee (window no. 1). After shelling out 864PLN and getting the receipt, the only thing left was the interview.
10 minutes later a young CO lady appeared in window no. 2. She went through a few papers and shortly after that the first number appeared on the board. Not sure what was that about, but it only took them around 10 seconds to talk and then, the interviewee left.
Then I noticed she grabbed our file, started going through all our papers, she looked at us sitting in the room, smiled, kept reading the papers, kept on smiling and after 5, maybe 10 minutes of reviewing the documents our number came up.
We approached the window and I introduced my USC fiancee to her. I took an oath and the interview was conducted in English All she wanted to hear is how we met, if I have ever been to the U.S., overstayed my I-94 and if I still work as a computer programmer. Then she asked my fiancee if it was her first trip to Poland (second), we showed her the visa. Then we started discussing Euro 2012
After all this we got informed that our case looks good and that we\'ve been approved. I got our pictures back (the ones we attached to I-129F), the DHL slip, a K-1 visa information sheet and was good to go! We left the Embassy around 9:40am, so the whole thing took an hour. Definitely a stress-free experience
