Finally! The interview is finished and I was approved! .. time to relax for a couple months before moving!!
It was a cold, rainy day in Montreal and I walked to the Consulate around 6:15 am (I think, I didn't have a watch or phone)There was one other couple already in line. Shortly after Ayan arrived, who was also going for a K1 Visa interview. I believe the four of us were the only VJer's there as alot of people showed up with bags, phones, purses etc and were turned away.
We were let in at 7:30 am, a gentleman took my letter and put a sticker on my passport. I then went through security and went downstairs where we all sat near the elevator. Someone came down at around 8 am and told us we were allowed to go up. When we got off the elevator we were given a number, I was c2...although it didn't seem to matter because they started with c4, c3 then me.
I went up to the window when my number was called and nice lady with blond hair asked me for the following:
-long form birth certificate
-medical
-criminal check
-passport pictures
-Fiancee letter of intent
-Passport
She then verified a few addresses and I signed a document
They also scanned my fingers prints
I was then told to sit down until my number was called again
When it was, I proceeded to another window where another blond lady swore me in.
She asked me very simple questions:
-how did you meet
-are you ready to live in NYC
-what does your fiancee do
-when did he propose
She then smiled and told me that all my documents look good and she's approving my Visa!
Yesterday was a very happy day!! I practically ran back to the hotel so I could call my fiancee and tell him the news!
Time to relax, get married and get started on AOS
