I got my Packet 4(interview date) in my mail. Was also asked to print out a copy of the email to present at the gate. Sent an email to the Lagos Consulate two days to the interview to confirm my appointment and got a reply confirming my date. Interview time was 7am. So, arrived at the consulate approximately 6:33am. Two long queues were formed, one for immigrant visas and the second, for non-immigrant visas. After about 35 minutes, we were called in to the first check post just inside the first gate. There we were asked to present our appointment letters and international passports and also to unseal our medical reports. After my name was confirmed on the appointment list, I was handed a pay slip for visa payment and ushered to a temporary waiting area still the consulate but within the compound. From there we went in a single file through the first security check and into the consulate building where we also went through a second security check. I was asked to pick a pink paper from the \'B\' category signifying an immigrant visa. Was then ushered to the immigrant section where I paid the visa fee to the cashier. I noticed the fee for the K-1 visa had been slashed from 350USD to 240USD.
After payment I was issued a \'B\' number and asked to go wait till my number was called. When my number came up on the screen after about 25 minutes, I was asked by the lady to present my application form, birth certificate, international passport, 2 passport photographs and evidence showing affidavit of support. She collected them and I went back to my seat.
After another 30 minutes, the interviews started. 3 aged couples were first interviewed and granted visas. I noticed people who were delayed at the interview post had an issue with their applications that needed sorting out. Most of the interviews took some time and most were denied also.
When it finally got to my turn, my fingerprints were taken electronically and I was asked to swear an oath of truth. The man asked who was petitioning for me, I answered. He then asked if and how many times had my fiancee visited, I answered. He then asked for any proof I had. I gave him email and chat correspondences as well as call transcripts. He also asked if I had more pictures to show him. After that, he asked what my fiancee\'s job was and where she worked. He then asked me to sign on my DS-156k form and handed me a document showing the address where I was to go pick the visa and said to come back for the visa in 2weeks. My interview ended at exactly 10am and I give God all the praise and also thank my fiancee who was simply amazing throughout the whole process.
