The reason why this is rated a 3 is because my fiance suffers from anxiety, so even a 5 to him would be very stressful. By the way he described it, it sounds like a 5 to me!  Okay here we go!
His interview was a 9am, and he entered the building at around 845 after waiting in line from 830. They asked to see his appointment letter, and he said it was a "lovely lady" who then directed him to the visa line, where he went through security and they made him take off his belt and his watch. He then proceeded to the front desk where they asked to see his receipt which they scanned, then put a few stickers on his appointment letter and assigned him an appointment I.D.
He then went upstairs to the big seating area where the tv's showed who was being served at the moment followed by an announcement. After about 45 mins to an hour, he was called up to a booth, where they asked for his birth certificate, appointment letter, passport and receipt. They then asked how he was going to support himself then he handed over the affidavit of support forms from both me and my mother. She also gave him back his chest x-ray examination CD which she said he would need at the port of entry. They then took fingerprints of his right hand, then his left, then both thumbs. He was then handed a pink courier payment slip with his unique I.D. code on it. He was then told to fill out a form, and wait for the last 4 digits of his unique I.D. code.
He waited for about another hour and 15 minutes, until he was called to another booth where he was spoken to by a very polite american lady, he said around her late 20's. Before she even asked for anything, she commented on his organization and said she was "extremely impressed". She took his fingerprints again, then told him to raise his right hand and put his left over his heart and repeat the oath that she stated out loud. She then asked these questions -
- How did you meet your fiance?
- How did your relationship progress?
- What was it like when you met for the first time?
- How did you propose?
- How do you get along with her family?
- Where and when did you decide to get married?
- What are you going to do for work when you get there?
- Who's attending your wedding?
- Are there going to be any parties afterward?
- Are your parents attending the wedding?
- What does your fiance do for work?
- What does your fiance do for school?
- What does her mother do for work?
- Explain in detail how you proposed.
After he answered all the questions truthfully, she said to him "I am pleased to tell you that your K-1 visa interview has been approved." She then explained what was going to be sent to him in the mail, and that it would take AT MOST, 14 business days.
He then made his way over to the courier desk where he paid £14.80 for the standard delivery services where he handed them the pink slip delivery form from earlier with his unique I.D code on it.
That was it! He left and him and his mom celebrated with Nando's.
He said that everyone he came in contact with was VERY pleasant, aside from the officer who seemed very abrupt and business like.
