It was a chilly winter morning of January in Montreal...the feels-like temperature was -25 Degree Celsius. Me and my husband reached at the consulate at 7:40 am and we were 7th in the line. The security person allowed the first person in the line at 8 o' clock. My interview was at 8:30am. The harsh chilly wind made it very difficult for all of us to stand outside in the line.
Finally, at 8:15 I and my hubby were allowed inside. I was carrying my purse and an opend tote bag but they allowed me to take just tote and I had to transfer all my files from my purse to the tote.
The first thing I was asked was the DHL Sign up sheet, my interview appointment letter and the passport. They were not letting people go in without the DHL sheet.
Then the security check was done and I was given a token for the locker, where they kept our car keys and phones.
As other reviews have stated- I took the elevator and then went to a window in the left side-14b. Gave my appointment letter and the lady gave me a token no C-5
and then eventually fingerprints, photocopy of my birth cert and police clearance, and finally Affidavit of support, my husband's IRS and W2s.
Then, I was asked to wait for my no to be displayed for the interview. At 9:30am my no was displayed as c 5 room no-8.
It was a small room, The Officer was nice and she passed me the sworn in letter and asked me to read it out. And then she asked me 3 questions- 1. How did you two meet? 2. Where does your husband works? 3. How did your husband immigrate to USA?
While I was answering the questions, the officer was constantly looking at my husband...perhaps she was observing his body language.
And then she passed me the welcome letter and said "I am approving your visa today!!!!!!!!!!Have a happy life together and a very happy new year to both of you." My interview last for about 15 minutes.
Over all the experience was awesome.
Thanks to my Visa journey friends...without their help and support, it would not have been so smooth a journey. I really appreciate your help!
