my interview was at 8 am. i was scared but thankfully had a low number so knew I'd be out of my misery soon. my number was called, i went to the booth. my lawyer had left out the form DS 157k and the english lady in the booth told me i was missing docs from my application. i nearly died of a heart attack. i asked her what i should do about it to sort the problem out, she didn't answer. a couple of secs later a guy appeared with the forms and i had to fill them out to the best of my ability without having accurate facts of what exact years i attended all the schools i went to... etc etc etc. i thought my interview was going to be over then and there

but actually when i handed my forms to her, she told me i should fire my lawyer. i told her we had. she then laughed. which made me feel better! laughing is good! then i sat down again, heart beating like a galloping horse. after about 30 mins, as i was called up to the second part of the interview i actually felt vaguely calm. this was my moment to show off my wonderful relationship. the guy who interviewed me had a friendly face and a gorgeous american accent. he made me swear the oath which i was proud to do, then asked me pretty boring questions. How we met, where were we getting married, when did he propose, will my family fly out, does he have brothers and sisters, do i get along with his sister. he flicked through our petition as he asked me these questions, looking at the photos of us together. then he said 'well your paperwork looks all in order and we're happy to print you a visa'. then i floated out filled with an ocean of emotions to my dad and his 3 dogs who were waiting outside the embassy to congratulate me. it took 7 months for us to get there and we did it. to all of you in the waiting line, keep on keeping on. you will get there xxx
