Had my interview at 8am today in Montreal, now back in my hotel at the Square Phillips (highly recommended - SO close to the consulate).

I arrived at about 6:55 am this morning and waited at the left side of the door. It was so dark out, and I kind of hoped that someone else would show up! No one else showed up till probably 7:15 or so, and the guard let us in promptly at 7:30. I was first in line, and complimented by the security guard for being prepared - I carried ONLY my accordion folder and key card to my hotel.

As other reviews have stated, I went to the back left of the elevator and headed left when I got out to window 14b. I was first to get my number (C1), yet the fifth person to be called. Gave my appointment letter, and then eventually fingerprints, photocopy of my birth cert and police clearance, and finally I-134 and evidence of support.

These were the ONLY documents they ever asked me for. I guess I got off easy.

Interview was delayed because the window that I was at (8) was having computer problems. I milled around in the small stall for so long while I heard things like "reboot", "uninstall", "reinstall"...very stressful.

Finally they got things almost back on track, and I was sworn in. I was then asked how we met, how he proposed, what both of us do for a living...and that's it. The person interviewing me was seriously one of the sweetest, kindest ladies I could have imagined. She even wished me luck in Boston, and told me to have fun.

Thank god she actually fully overlooked the fact that my fiance didn't meet the poverty guidelines - for some reason, the only thing that we weren't prepared for was that he had to make over 125% of a 2 person household and not just for himself. I realized this as soon as I arrived at the consulate and prepared myself for the worst and ended up APPROVED! I don't recommend putting yourself in this situation, obviously, cover all your bases; I think I used up everyone's luck for some time now. Sorry!

All in all, I arrived at 6:50, in at 7:30, interview at 9:30, computer trouble, then back at the hotel at 10. The waiting room got very full, I would recommend getting there early, even if you're the only one in line.

Thanks again for all the help, VJ!
