The worst part of the interview was that we had to wait in the rain outside the embassy! Besides that it was easy peasy.
Luckily I (the US citizen) am in the UK with my fiance so I got to attend the interview with him. I prepared loads and had copies of everything we've submitted so far and further evidence of our relationship plus tons of bank docs, etc. In the end all they needed from us was his original birth certificate and police certificate plus the I-134.
We got to the embassy at 8am for a 9am interview and waited in line for around 20 minutes. Once we got into the embassy and were issued a number, we waited for about 10 minutes before they called us up the first time. That's when we handed in paperwork. As I've heard before on here, the person behind the window was British and seemed cold but if you just talk to them and treat them nicely and light-heartedly they start talking and laughing with you.
Then we sat back down and I was expecting to wait a couple of hours before the actual interview part, as I've read on here before. But we were sitting there for literally 20 minutes and our number was up again. Maybe it was just a slow Friday at the embassy. The interview itself lasted about 3 minutes. She (a nice red-headed American lady) asked how we met, what the plan was, and then I had to explain how my mom was a second sponsor. Then suddenly she said, 'Well, everything looks good so I'm going to approve you guys.' That was it! It probably helped that we were both there. We paid the courier and then were back out into the rain. We were literally in and out of the embassy in about an hour. javascript:emoticon(' ')
The biggest piece of advice I'd give is to be prepared and just have nothing to hide. Stress enough to get yourself organized and have it all in order, but after that, stop stressing and just get on with it.
Best of luck to everyone else!!! javascript:emoticon(' ')
