Our appointment was for 10:00am, we arrived at about 9:30am, handed in our appointment notice and sat down and waited. After waiting for 1 and a half hours, I thought I would ask to see if there was any issues with my case since it was taking so long. Just as I was about to ask, my name was called.

We were lead into an office and were then told that the person handling my case was not in today, which was the reason for the delay. The interviewing officer mentioned he wasn\'t familiar with my case but would try to see if he could get it all sorted today.

We were then asked to take an oath. He then proceeded to go through the application, asking questions from the application to verify everything was legit. The questions were fairly straight forward (e.g. mother/father's name, phone number, addresses you lived at, etc..). After going through the application he said everything looked in order, however since he wasn't the person handling the case he would have to review a few more things before approving it. I'd either get a letter in the mail asking for more evidence or a green card within 30 days. I submitted a bank statement and insurance policy as further evidence of a shared life together. He didn't ask to see anything else apart from our passports.

The interview took about 30 minutes. I would say it would have been quicker if we had the original interviewing officer. The officer we had was pleasant enough, he joked a bit but was mostly professional in his approach. Apart from the 1 and a half hour wait, it was a good experience.

Later that day I got an email from USCIS saying they had ordered production of my new card.
