The early arrival is important. The waiting lines and announcements are in Spanish and organized. Phones with cameras are taken away, at security checking. Long lines for tourist visas. Well organized binder for documents is crucial. The document collection person was rough, annoying and demanding. The Instruction Package 4 requires more than what the collector person wanted, such as extra copies of I-134 and supporting documentation. She threw back many of the extra copies. She was asking lot of questions about my finance's child. The main question was; why was not she there, at the interview, even though, the Instruction does not recommend to bring the child in.
We did not have enough photos in the morning, but luckily we have them on a CD and we could print more of them, next to the Embassy, for few pesos. After the documents turn in, we had to wait for the interview for 2-3 hours. Most of the applicants were approved.
I strongly recommend that the Beneficiary answers the questions, over the phone, at the interview and the document collection ! I wanted to do the answering at the start, when the documents were collected, but I was rejected and sent back to sit down. My fiancee was very nervous and she asked me to talk in English, but it was a bad idea. The lady at the documents window was angry with her. So, be confident, speak Spanish and answer the questions calmly and briefly. Be extremely organized with the papers ! They demand quick handling of the document collection process. Every answer is entered into the computer system, so all interviewers will see your answers, you have made already.
