Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

Our visa appointment was scheduled for October the 14th at 9 am. My husband was with me and we decided to arrive at 7 am. We went directly to the number three line (but there wasn´t a line)A woman asked to see my appointment letter and they put a green sticker with the number 40 and told us to continue to window 2. We passed through security and went to the window 2. There was a line of about 5 people, but the wait was just five minutes. The lady behind the window asked for my appointment letter and gave me a plastic bag to put two photos with my name inside. She then told me to wait until my name was called. After 30 or so minutes my name was called by a Colombian woman over the speaker and i went to window 7. My husband stayed in the waiting area. I picked up the phone and the girl, who was very nice gave me back a copy of my marriage certificate, a copy of my passport and two photos from the papers we submitted with the DS-230. I had prepared the documents they required for the interview package and also copies of everything we submit during the process. Although i was just asked to give my medical report from the doctor. She also asked if we didnt have divorces in our records (which we didnt) and how long had been my longest stay in the USA with my tourist visa (it was five months). Meanwhile she was writing we just had a conversation about the cold weather. This step was only about five minutes or less and pretty easy. I was told to wait until i get called for my interview and that my papers were ok. And also as she knows my husband was there he should come with me for that step. We killed the time playing some Mad-Libs and trying to understand the voices coming out of the speakers. After almost an hour and a half we heard a wierd noise that sounded sort of like my name to window number 4, we looked confused and joked about it when the voice repeated my name to window number 4. We went together to the window and picked up the phone. Sitting on the other side was a very nice woman who asked me if that guy was my boyfriend, which i corrected "husband" she smiled and said of course and after that she told me we would speak only the truth which i answered perfect. I was ready then for the interrogation. She asked how we met while simultaneously passing the DS-230 under the window for me to sign. I signed it and then she made a friendly comment about how my husband and i met. Then she told me to hang up the phone to take my finger prints. After this she asked did for work, i responded she review the package gave me a smile and told me everything was perfect and my visa was approved. She asked me when i was leaving and gave me a DHL paper with a number to call and set up the visa delivery. We jumped, we kissed, we hugged each other. The entire interview with the final woman took about one minute, my husban also informed me at that time that when we walked up to the window he noticed the giant red approved stamp on the package. Seems like the process is a bit more streamlined and the delivery is free. After we got home, i called the DHL number and after some questions they created an account for me to track my visa and also asked me to choose the closest DHL office to my residence. Today is the second business day since the interview and after checking online my visa was received by the main DHL office in Bogotá. We are estimating one or two days more until i can pick it up at the office i chose.
