What can you say about Consulate, that understands your situation? How many stars it deserves? Definitely more than 5.
We had a situation with Olya's daughter aging-out of eligibility to come over, so we decided to give it a shot, and sent e-mail to Embassy well in advance, while paperwork still was at NVC. Didn't get any reply, and though all is lost. But on September 27 Olya got a call (and I got e-mail) saying that, although Consular Section is closed on last Friday of the month, they decided to do one interview - her, to give us a chance in age-out situation.
So here we go. Olya arrived at Consular Section, they let her right in. Usual stuff - sorting paperwork, fingerprints and then.... interview. It was kind of long, and centered on our relationship before filing I-129F. Since we know each other for many years - it is understandable. They had to rule out any doubt, that our relationship is real. At the end Consul took all Olya's original documents, passports, printed facebook conversations for last month (over 200 pages), asked her to e-mail more pictures from her visits to the USA and told her that he can't make decision right away, will wait for more pictures and then take another look at whole file.
To make long story short, ten days later Olya got passports back with visas and additional 2 pieces of paper, that made whole ordeal clear: two e-mails from ex-husband to Embassy with baseless claims against Olya and I. Obviously Consulate had to check those facts, but still it was done in record time.
