Well, I can honestly say that\'s the hardest thing I\'ve ever gone through, got to London at 5.30am, found somewhere to park (longer than 4 hours but cost me 20 pounds) at 6.30am, got to embassy at 6.45am, first in line! A guy on the gate was really pissy with me, clearly not a morning person, but the cop with the glock, taser and the MP5 was really nice.

At 7am there was about 10 people behind me, the guy third in line told me I can\'t have anything electronic including my car key, so the woman behind me kept my place as me and another guy took everyone\'s keys to the local pharmacy who holds electrical items for a tenner.

They opened the embassy at 7.30am, they checked my receipts, appointment letters and passports then pointed me to another line. A German man came out and inspected my papers again, all bags were put through a scanner (including the kids backpacks with treats in it) and we walked through an x-ray, my daughter set it off, don\'t know why, got inside, woman at the desk couldn\'t work the computer so she got a guy to help her, I was the only one there.

By the time I got my number there was a queue behind me, I was still first Sat in the waiting room until 7.45, called up to window #13 (lol), took all the birth certificates and copies, took police certificates, took appointment letters and receipts, took passports and then did my fingerprints, she asked if we planned to marry, I told her the date and she completely turned to mush hehehe, at 8.30 went back to waiting room for an hour, called up to window 16, they took my fingerprints again, returned original documents kept the copies and the receipts, asked me where we met, what is my fiance\'s middle name and what color are his eyes, then she asked me where he worked and did I know anything about his work, had I met his family, did he meet my family (I said \"this IS my family\" and pointed to the kids) then she said \"I have to check something, go wait in the waiting area please\"...panic...

Called back 15 minutes later where she told me I had to take the pink slip to the desk and pay the courier. They charge based on one document or more, and one person or more. 22.40 for 3 people multiple docs. And know what? If you are denied, you have to pay anyway! The courier does not take cash. I said to the guy at the desk \"Does nobody take cash any more?\" and he casually said \"No\" hahaha.

NOTE the American passport photos are 2\"x2\", bigger than British, there is a booth there to have them taken.

If I was ten minutes later parking would have been another 40 pounds!
