I got to the embassy earlier than planned, basically was there at around 7.10 but was aiming for 7.30. The queue was short at that time, about 7 people maybe, but it started filling up really fast afterwards. We were let in by 7.30am.

It all went quite quickly, a lot of non-immigrant applicants mostly and only a couple of intending immigrants were there. After about half an hour I got called up to the first window and a woman scanned my fingerprints, gave me my x-ray cd, asked for my birth certificate, 2 passport photos, police certificate and affadavit. She only asked for one piece of evidence for the affadavit (though I gave her 2 anyway, just incase). She asked me when I was hoping to fly out there. She was quick, casual and polite and gave me the courier slip and told me to go wait for the next part.

I must have waited about 20 minutes or so before being called up to the interview window. I was greeted by a very friendly blonde American woman who asked me how I was, and was generally very pleasant. She had me take the oath and then sign one of the DS forms and asked -

How long have I known my fiance?
Where will we live?
What does he do?
What will I do?
When did he last visit me?
What the wedding plans are,
and if my family would be attending the wedding.

I told her we were having a very small wedding since we are just young and students and she was very understanding. Then she said, 'everything looks fine here, your visa is approved', told me it would take 7 days to get my passport back and wished me good luck.

My appointment was at 8am, I was out by 9am!

So nothing to worry about. Hope this is helpful to anybody who is anticipating their interviews. I recommend bringing a pen and a book, but of course leave all electronics at home or in the pharmacy and security will make you take a sip of any drink you have with you also.
