My fiancee and I arrived at the embassy more than 30 minutes early. We were given a number and seated in a room with about 8 windows and about 150 chairs. An electronic board flashes your number and window the first time. At this point, we just went up to verify what we are there for and to make sure the documents are in order. After returning to our seats and watching more of some government-produced television video talking about what to expect in America, our number was called again to the window on the far right of the room to pay our $100 fee. Back to our seats. After 30 minutes (or maybe it was 60, I'm not sure), we were called up to a central window for our official chat. My fiancee was asked to raise her right hand and swear that she would tell the truth! "I swear!" she replied The official interview could not have been more than 5 minutes long. "When did you first meet?" "Is he your fiancee?" She made some small talk with me, presumably to make sure I had an American accent. "Is this your first time in Poland?"

She could think of nothing more to question and said, "Okay! Everything is in order! You may come back at 3:00 to pick up your passport and visa!" We celebrated that day in Warsaw and took the bus back to Lithuania that night!

One week later, we were in San Francisco!

Overall, the embassy staff were polite and professional. We were probably there 2 hours. Warsaw is a nice city to explore. The Sheraton Hotel is very close, but I'm sure better priced places can be found in the center where the walk is about 30 minutes to the embassy.
