Review Topic: K1 Visa

Our interview was on monday so saturday night we were looking over all of our paperwork and noticed that the birth certificate needed to have his parents names on it and the one that we have did not. We were not even aware of a different one. We hired a lawyer and he never said anything of this as well (along with being utterly useless anyway. I wish I had found this site ahead of time). Also, we were curious why it was not flagged at USCIS. Nonetheless, we went ahead to the interview to see what they said.

We arrived a little bit before 8 after dropping off the cell phones at Gould's pharmacy. We only waited a little bit outside and then proceeded through security. About 1.5 hours later our number I-912 was called up. The gentlemen took our required documents (including the birth certificate) and said nothing about it. He then asked about his medical and if he had it. We replied he had it almost a month ago. The gentleman then asked us to sit down so he could go look for it. He then came out to where we were sitting and asked Paul what knightsbridge said when he went for it and then went back behind the doors. A little bit later he came back and said that knightsbridge still has it because they were waiting on proof of a vaccine. The doctor told Paul that he didn't need to get it there and just needed to make sure that he got it before the AOS. The doctor told the embassy that he passed but just needed the vaccine. They said this is not a problem and will still proceed with the interview.

About 30 min later he was called for the interview. She was very friendly and then asked the usual questions: How did you meet? Where do you plan to live? and What do you plan to do for work? and that is it. She told him about the medical and gave him a blue sheet that was marked the visa is on hold until these documents are completed and instructions on how to mail in his passport. She also told him that he does not need to come back for another interview and that the visa is essentially approved. YAY. Overall, it was a very easy process and everyone was very friendly.
