Now I finally have the time to right a review. My interview was last 7/7/2011 @ 8:30 am. over all experience was good, thanks to my husband for making sure that are docs are complete and to VJ family for the guides. Now here's what happened between 6:00am-11:00am @ US Embassy. read on.
1st Step: Line-up
--Arrived @ US Embassy 6am, I asked the security guard about where to line up because I already saw some who were asked to line up. Told him my appointment time is 8:30am for Immigrant visa. Guard just told me to wait on for awhile 'cause the first one's that are asked to go in are non-immigrants.
--6:30 am: Finally I was able to line up.
--Got my passport out and my interview appointment letter handed it to embassy representative, they put a sticker on passport and I was asked to go in.
--SECURITY CHECK: Make sure not to bring any electronic gadget, cellphones, usb flash disk, cameras. No liquids, perfume, hand sanitizer.
--Cleared security check.
2nd Step: Get Queuing Number and Enter Embassy
--Lined up again to get my queuing number.
--The lady took my passport and interview appointment, stapled my number on it and returned it to me. Also handed me a 2go white form. Told me to drop my appointment letter on window 39.
--Went inside the new US Embassy Building, went through security check and dropped my appointment letter on window 39 and was asked to take a seat and wait for my number to be flashed on the boards.
3rd Step: Finger Printing
--WAITING PART.
--After waiting for almost 2 hrs. my number finally flashed for finger printing, window 40.
--Done in a few minutes, sat and waited again for my pre-screening.
4th Step: Pre-screening
--After 20 minutes number flashed on window 43.
--The pre-screener was a Filipino guy, asked my name, date of birth, who petitioned me,date of marriage. Quick questions about my Husband then He asked for my Advisory of Marriage (CEMAR) from NSO.
--He slipped my DS-230 form out of the window and told me to sign part 2.
--He then browsed my documents.
--Asked if I have chatlogs, pictures and money transfer receipts. He told me to prepare it, so I took it all out from my clear book. When I was going to slip it under the window he told me to put it back and go back on the waiting area and wait for my interview with the CO.
5th Step: Interview with the CO
--After another 20mins. my number was flashed for window 63.
--Greeted the CO good morning, CO was a nice american guy who has a sling on his right arm. He asked for my name and date of birth then asked me to raise my right hand and swear to tell nothing but the truth. Asked the name of my petitioner, date of marriage. Asked a few question about my husband's current job. Just quick and basic questions.
--He checked my Affidavit of Support and he smiled when he saw that my husband sent a whole lot of pay stubs.
--CO reached for a big stamp, flipped the folder close and put a rubber band. And then He finally says "Your Visa is approved". I was really happy and he told me to go back on the waiting area for instructions on how I'll get my Visa. I kept saying Thank you.
--Done with the interview in less than 5mins.
6th Step: 2go Shipping info
--After a few minutes I was called on window 73.
--Filipino Guy asked for my name, date of birth and name of Petitioner. Asked a bit about my job which I think isn't necessary 'cause I was done with my interview but I politely answered him anyway. He told me my visa is approved which Duhh I already know. Handed me back my appointment letter that has a stamp on it and He told me to drop my 2go form on window 68.
The moment I got back Home I sent a message to my husband and sent a message to my entire family about my approval!
