Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa

My interview was scheduled at 8:30am of July 14, 2011. I went to bed at 9pm and set my alarm at 4am but can't sleep. hehe. Woke up at 2am, went online to see if hubby was already at home. Chatted with hubby for awhile and went to shower at almost 4am. Had my breakfast at the hotel at 6am and went to the embassy at 6:30am. There were hundreds of people already waiting and I thought I have to wait til they call those people who have appointment at 8:30. I was wrong. As soon as I got there, all I did was to fall in line under immigrant visa and they let me enter the premises ahead of my scheduled time. That being said, I guess it's best to go there as early as you can if you want to be done early too. Before entering the embassy, I was asked to show them my appointment letter and my passport. Went through the first security check and after that, I was asked to fall in line to get my number (I got 6074). They asked for my interview letter, handed me the 2go form and my number, and instructed me to drop my interview letter with a stapled number on window 39. Went through second security check, dropped by appointment letter at window 39 and went to look for a vacant seat. There are tons of people waiting inside already. After an hour, my number flashed on the screen, instructed me to go to window 40 and so I did. It was for finger scanning. They asked for my name and birth day and took my scanned my fingers. Waited for another 30 minutes and my number flashed again and instructed me to proceed to window 48. It was for my pre-interview with a filipina officer. It only lasted 5 minutes. She asked me the following questions:

1. What is your name? stated my name
2. Who is your petitioner? my husband
3. When did you get married? Oct 23, 2010
4. Where did you get married? The Lakeshore, Mexico, Pampanga
5. How many times has he been in he Philippines? 6 times
6. Do you have kids? no
7. Is this your first marriage? yes
8. Is this your husband's first marriage? no
9. How did you meet? we work together and we met each other during one of our company's meeting.
10 When did you meet? September 2008
11. What is a Coach?(not the brand name, haha, I was a coach/team manager before and I met my husband at work, he's a Policy Operations Manager)

She said NVC did not include my husband's divorce decree in the packet they sent to the embassy. (Interesting huh? What's new with NVC anyway :P )She asked for my copy and I gave it to her. She then instructed me to wait for my number to flash on the board for my final interview.

I waited 2 freaking hours for my final interview! haha! I was dizzy already looking at each numbers that were flashing randomly on the board. Finally, after 2 hrs my number flashed and I was instructed to proceed on window 64. A blond curly woman was my CO and she was nice. As I was approaching her, she said (while her mic was on, haha) "This is a wife!" I laughed and said, "how did you know?" She smiled back and said I look professional. I don't know what that means but I've seen people wearing clothes showing their boobies. LOL. So I guess my denim skinny jeans and long sleeves did the work for me. haha. I greeted her good morning and she smiled back and said good morning. She asked me to raise my right hand and swear that I will only say the truth. I said yes. My final interview only took 5 minutes. Then she proceeded with the questions:

1. Who is your petitioner? My husband.
2. What is his name? Stated my husband's name
3. Was he married before? yes
4. How many kids he have? he have an adopted daughter
5. When did you get married? October 23, 2010
6. When was the last time you saw him? March 28, 2011
7. When did you meet? September 2008
8. Where did you meet? at work, inside the meeting/conference room.
9. How many times has he visited you? he's been here 6 times. 2 for business trip and 4 for personal vacation. She then said, "Wow! That's a lot of miles!" I laughed and said, yes! :P
10. She asked if I have pictures with me, I said we have more than 5000 photos and I only printed 50. haha. She laughed and said, "Just pick one - your favorite". I gave her one of our wedding photos which is my favorite and she said, "You guys look so happy. Happiness radiates." I said, thank you.

She continued typing and after a few seconds she said, "It's a long wait til the interview day and it's just quick huh? (I smiled and she said) I'll approve your visa and good luck in America!" Sweet!!! I gave her my biggest smile and said thank you. She instructed me to wait for my name to be called for the delivery instructions. I waited for a minute and my name was called, gave them (2go) my 2go form and left the building. Was so hungry and sleepy after but I'm very happy. Took a cab and went back to the hotel and told my husband about the good news!!

Thank you all for the help you gave us and all the prayers too! Good Luck to everyone!
