June 22,2011 that is the best day! The BIG day for me,my honey and my 3 lovely kids.. Our interview in USEM. I woke up at 3am,pray and asked GOD to guide me and my kids. I made sandwiches and cups noodles for the kids to eat, then prepared ourselves, took shower etc...
The hotel where we stayed was just a block away from usem so we arrived there at 5am and we saw a lot of people fall in line. I saw 3 lines,K1 or fiance visa, seamans and i am not sure about the next line maybe student or CRI or tourist visa
applicant. The guard let us in at exactly 6am, they checked the ds156k, ds157, ds156 forms (2 copy each) and of course the appointment letter and the passport. Then they gave us a number: 7007, our lucky number. Inside the embassy, we dropped the forms in window 39 (DS156, DS157, DS 156k and our passports) and then waited for our number to be called. Numbers are randomly called so we waited there for, ahm, not so long.. )
Then our number was called in window 48, a Filipina interviewed us. She asked me and my kids for our name, age and birthday. She also asked me:
"When and Where did you met your fiance?"
"When did you meet him personally? How long did he stayed here?"
She asked me to give her our b.certs., my NBI clearance and my 17 yr old daughter, W2 (2010), pay stub, employer's certification of my fiance, 1040, and ITR. Then she let us sit again and wait for our number to be flashed.
About an hour, our number flashed and we need to go to window 40. On window 40 an American Lady asked me and my kid's name, age and birthday. Only I and my 17 yrs. old daughter did the fingerprinting. After that, we sat again and waited for our number. I think only waited for less than 10 minutes when our number flashed: 7007--62.
On window 62 an American guy interviewed us. He looks so serious, he diidn't even smile, he just said "Hi, goodmorning. So you want to marry an American guy huh?" And I said, "Goodmorning sir, of course, I'd love to. (with a swwet smile )"
Then he asked us to raise our right hands and swore that everything that is written and everything that we will say will only be the truth and nothing but the truth. hehe
He asked for our name, age, and birthday.
Here are the questions that he asked:
"Who's the petioner? What's his name?"
"Is he nice? Really?"
"Where does he lives?"
"What's his work?"
"Does he own a house or just renting?"
"How and When did you met your fiance?"
"When did you meet him personally? How long did he stayed here?"
"Where did he stayed when he's here in the Phil.?"
"When he visited here, did you go in other places?"
"Have you been in the US?"
"Have you been to other countries? What did you do there? Do you have a police clearance from that country?"
"Do you have pictures when he visit here?"
When he saw the album he said: "So, you really want to marry an American guy!!"
Then he said, "You can go now to window 72 and fill up for your 2go form"
On window 72, I asked the lady if we are approved, and she said "Yes"
And we left the USEM with a big smile on our face. )
When we arrived to the hotel, I turned on the laptop quickly and shared the good news to my fiance who was waiting for us..
We are all very thankful to GOD who guide us and planned for this wonderful thing to happen in our lives.
