I got to London the day before to save any undue stress, I checked out the location of the Embassy that day. I stayed at the Lincoln Hotel which is 5-10 minutes away from the embassy. The Hotel was really nice and friendly and I would recommend it to anyone attending an interview and wanted to stay over.
Now for the interview, I arrived at the embassy for 7.30 am there was a small queue of about 40 people. We were asked to start the line again to check our paperwork, ( this meant that I was at the front ) great!! I then went inside where they scan you I had a bottle of water and forgot 2 memory sticks that were in my purse good for me my sister( she was outside) took them. I then entered and got my number on my letter.(1903) I sat down at 7.45 am and was called at 8.15 am to window 13 the lady was really nice. The Lady asked me about my fiancee and how we met. The way she spoke to me was really informal. The paper work she said was all in order and there were no concerns. The lady asked me for my fingers prints to be done, the Police Check and my birth certificate she took my pack and my pictures. The lady asked me to then wait as all appeared to be in order I took the form for the DX Secure she aksed me to complete this and wait to be seen. It was then 30 minutes later I was called to 1 window 16 he American Man was really nice, he was a tall man he asked me to veriy my identity by using my finger prints. He then asked me to affirm or swear that the information I am sharing will be the truth. He asked me how we met? When did we first meet? His occupation ? My occupation when we plan to marry? and how I feel about the plans ? My family and friends if they were atending I said yes this would be in July. He looked at the paperwork and then said I am pleased to say that your VISA IS APPROVED!!! I was so happy a big smile he explained about the form and the package that was coming and that welcome and congratulations.
I then went and joined the long key for the DX paid £26 for the delivery early morning. All complete and out of the embassy in 2 hours.
All I can say is after 11 months of waiting..... I am so glad to be approved and I went out shopping to Oxford Street to celebrate...
