Review Topic: K1 Visa

I am writing on behalf of my fiancee(the beneficiary)

On Feb 14, 2011 I received a text message stating the 129F form was approved. In approximately two weeks, I received the NOA2 hard copy and packets 3 & packet 4 by email with interview date April 14, 2011.

The packet 3 & 4 had all the information we needed including which hospitals to use for the medical, all the fees that we needed to pay, and the interview date. We dd not have to call to make an schedule for the interview. The consulate did it for her.

The below are the documents the consulate asked from us:
Complete forms:
1. DS-230 (2 copies)
2. DS-156 online, (2 copies)
3. DS-156K, (Do not sign)(2 copies)
4. DS-157K (2 copies)

Docs require from the petitioner:
1. Affidavit of support/Evidence of support
(Bank statement, latest tax, and a letter from employee.)
I did not notarize any of my form
2. an updated letter of intend to get married

Docs require from the beneficiary:
1. date of birth
2. passport
3. police record
4. evidence of the relationship (photos, emails, chat logs, ... etc)
5. 2 photos 2x2
6. document that you show that you are not married
7. the suggest for you to make a back up copy of your documents
8. an update letter of the intend to get married.
9. Medical form

One thing, it did not mention to bring a copy of the original packet that I submitted when I filed the petition for her K1 visa. She did not bring it the date of her interview. It was not needed.

The date of the interview:

The interview was scheduled for 8.30am by 9.30am my fiancee was done.

Both of the interviewers were very polite.

They asked her question about me such as:

1. My name
2. My place of birth
3. What I do for living
4. What she does for living
5. Where do I work
6. Where she works
7. How long she lives in Dubai
8. When did I became USC
9. how did we meet
10.How many times I visited her
11.When was the first time I met her in person
12.When was the last time I met her in person
13.Where do I live
14.If I have any kids
15.If she has any kids
16.If she has any relative in USA
17.Is her kid coming to USA with her
18.My birthday

The first interviewer asked simple questions from the above list and the second interviewer asked the most question. After the first interviewer was done, she asked my fiancee to go and take the finger print.

After the second interviewer finished questioning her, she told her come back in a week to get your passport and told her Good luck.

According to my fiancee, both interviewers were very nice and polite
