Review Topic: K1 Visa

After dropping my bag and jacket off at Goulds pharmacy I headed to wards the embassy. On arriving i was asked for my appointment letter, MRV receipt my passport and a DS 160, whihc i did not have as its not applicable to the K1 visa. I then waited in line to go through the security checks which only took about 5 minutes.
On entering the embassy at 8.37 I was given ticket number I914 and then i heded to the waiting room. Every 30 seconds or so it seemed they called out N numbers for the non immigrants which there seemed to be alot more of these than I numbers.

It was 11.45 by the time my I914 was called up and I was asked to go to window 13 (Mal & Meg lucky number) I felt nervous as I walked to the counter with all the folders and pictures i had....

On arriving at the window the girl asked me to confirm my name and then asked if I had done my medical....and i was thinking oh no I told her I had it on the 5th of January so she went away and looked to see if they had it and after she stopped and spoke to a guy for about 5 minutes she came back with the goods

She then followed to ask for my birth certificate and police certificate with a copy of each of them to. She then ticked the boxes for these and then asked me if I had the I134 form which i gave to her. She then said have you got 2 proofs of income such as bank statements. I had bank statements, letter from employer and pay slips which she took and then I also had the tax returns which she said we probably wouldnt need but took them anyway

The girl then asked how we met and when was the last time we saw each other. So i told her how me and megan met and that she was last here in October last year. She also took finger prints from me and gave me the disc with my chest xray on it.

She then said everything here looks good to me and gave me a form to fill in for the postage and told me to go wait in the waiting room.
I went back feeling happy as she seemed positive we would be accepted so I filled in the form and waited to be called again. It was about another 40 minutes till i was called to window 15. It was an American man this time who asked me to confirm who i was and then scanned my fingers again.
He asked me to give a brief outline of our story which i did. Then asking where we will be living once I get to America and he followed to make a joke about Minnesotas cold winters! He got me to sign the DS230 and swear that all the information given was correct which i did
He then said everything is fine and I was approved and that I should go and pay for my postage. Before i did i asked him about SS card but he was completely sure so told me there is a number you can call that is on the embassy website to ask about it. He said it will take 3-5 days to process and wished me luck.
I went off and paid for my postage and asked them to contact me as soon as the delivery company receive it so that I know when it will be coming.

All in all apart from sitting about waiting from 8.37 to 1pm it was stress free and only spoke to people for a combined total of 25 minutes and stood in queue for delivery for about 5 minutes that was me all done
