Hello All
I had attended the IR1 interview at Abu dhabi on 26th July 2010.My interview experience is as below
I had reached the US EMBASSY, ABU DHABI around 07.30 am. There were around 5 people who were sitting there waiting for their turn. We were called in at around 07.40am and first the security check ups done and told us to give all bags and mobiles at the security point.
Once the security is done they let us to move in to the main building which is in a triangle shape. Once we entered in the room we found that it is a small hall where hardly 30 people can sit together. On one side we can see counters for interview. Soon we entered we were given tickets for our turn.
At first I was called by counter 8 to give our interview letter and medical reports and the docs asked by the NVC by some staff definitely he is an Indian. Then I was told to wait till my turn. There were families whom they called first. Minimum time for interview is 10 mins and max can be up to 30 mins.
Around 09.35 my turn come. She was a nice American lady and asked to take the oath. Then she asked around five questions
Where my spouse lives
What she is doing
How long she is there
Whether we have children
When you plan to travel
Then she checked all my docs once and told me that my docs are ok and we are issuing the visa. Then she gave me light green ticket size paper where she mentioned that “pick up-07/28/2010-2 pm”
I was so happy and come out through the same door and collected all my belongings from security and come out.
Then on 28th I collected my passport and the sealed envelope and finaly my wait for the last 3.5 years is over
