Yesterday, which was also my birthday, was our interview at the US Embassy. We arrived like six o clock in the morning and our appointment time was seven am. Having Charles with us, makes me more calm. SO we lined up with the rest of the K1 applicants until we got inside. Our number was 7014. What makes me nervous was waiting for our number to be flashed on the screen. Like hoping it's our turn and worrying it's not gonna flashed at all...
Everyone I encountered in the embassy were all actually nice. They did not make me feel like we're not gonna be approved. The prescreener was a Filipina, she is kind and approachable and even greeted me happy birthday. The black guy who do the finger scanning is kind and cool too. When he asked about my number which I forgot at the envelope I left with Charles simply asked if I remember my number by heart and of course I said yes, it's 7014. Then asked my name, etc and then my birthday, which was yesterday too and he said "Happy birthday and it's good you have your interview date on your birthday", where I replied " I feel lucky today". Then he smiled and joke where's the cake. Told him, we're having it later with ice cream too and he's invited!=) Then he smiled again and said " Goodluck".
Lastly, we waited for the final interview with the Consul. And when it was our turn, David was about to throw tantrums and crabby and I was about to freak out. I was like, this is the last step, for God's sake! Good thing before we went inside, David started to behave. The Consul did not asked a lot actually. These are the questions he just gave us:
What is your full name?
Have you been out of the country or work abroad?
How did we meet?
When was our first meeting?
How many times Charles visited?
How old is David?
If Charles has been married before?
Then when he asked about my birthday, I said it's today. Then he also greeted me "Happy Birthday". Then told him we're having cake and ice cream later and if he wants some, he said he wants to have ice cream cake. =) Then he said we're approved and congratulations! I said thank you and it's gonna be a double celebration for us!=)
