Don't bother going early for interviews at the Vancouver consulate. They won't let you in until about 9:45 for your 10 AM appointment.

We had our interview on May 30th. The interview itself was fine -- I attended with my fiance, and they were curt but polite as they took our forms and asked questions about how we met and got to know one another. They never asked for any supporting evidence of a relationship.

Just as the interview was about to end, the CO asked my fiance, "How tall are you? How much do you weigh?" It turns out, they'd found a name hit (my fiance has a very common name) on the U.S. database of criminal activity. So we had to come back to the consulate later in the afternoon to have fingerprints done (at an additional cost of US $85.) These had to be sent off to Washington, D.C., and the officers indicated that we'd have the results in about 2 weeks.

Sigh. Weren't they supposed run name checks and investigate any hits way back at the original service center?

Other than that, the officers were pleasant enough to us. The only other person there at the time interviewing for a K visa ran into some trouble for not having all the paperwork she needed for her children. As others have advised, be prepared and organized, and you should be fine -- barring any surprise name check results.
