It's about time I updated my time line.
My interview itself was great, the person interviewing me was very personable.
The process was long, as I traveled from the island to the mainland and had to time ferries and taxis etc.
I only had a few setbacks and I just dealt with them as best I could.
The first one was my shoes, I had traveled over in dress clothes wearing runners for comfort and planning on changing to shoes when I got there, BUT you cannot bring shoes into the building, so I casually opted to ditch the shoes, they were killing my feet and when I got to the interview I realized that no one was dressed for business anyway.
The second one was timing, the Vancouver Consulate closed for the Olympics and set us back a few weeks because we were missing an "original" document. The document was the divorce papers of Micheal's first wife. I tried to talk my way around it explaining that he did get married a second time and that I am sure he was divorced when that happened, but rules are rules and we dealt with it.
The process all in all is to have ALL of your documents in order and to make sure you travel light.
