Besides the terribly long wait, it was a good experience. My interview was at 13h00 and I got to the consulate at 12h00, which made me second in line. Although I had to sit on the pavement for more than an hour, it was worth it as I was first to be helped at the immgration windows, once I got inside.
Everyone that I dealt with was highly professional, which confirmed what I read on the other posts. You leave your medical at the security desk. Make sure that you have your proof of relationship in a seperate folder as they initially take that and return it to you later. If your fiance has been divorced, take a copy of his divorce certificate with. Take more paperwork that you think you will need. That will put you at ease.
They allow you to take your handbag inside, in the event that you want to pack a snack or a bottle of water. It took about 3 hours, and I was happy to have something to munch and to drink some water. They also have a vending machine, so don't fear.
Take a book to read while you wait!!!! Even if you are so nervous that you don't register anything you read, it will help put your mind at ease.
And seriously, I was so stressed, but it isn't that bad. The ones interviewing you are to the point, but friendly. I know this is a nerve recking experience for anyone going through it, but just be prepared with all your forms and supporting documents and be honest about your answers.
The worse part truely is the wait. Good luck to everyone!
