Orville and I had an appointment on November 18 at 9:30am. We arrived at that time and were told to proceed into the embassy after the woman in front took the pictures and passports from us. She told my fiance to sign his name to the back of the photos and then we entered the embassy. We were given our number and proceeded to section A where we sat in the back row. We had our 2 year old daughter with us and she kept us quite entertained while we waited to be called to the window.
First we were called to a window where a very friendly Jamaican woman took all of our paperwork. She wanted the 156,156k,157, and the I134. I explained to her that I made enough money with my child support included and brought supporting evidence to that but I also had a co-sponsor. She took mine as well as my co-sponsors evidence. She handed back papers as she went that she did not need. She had a years worth of my pay stubs but only took three of them...the most recent. She thanked me for being organized and fingerprinted Orville and then had us take a seat.
We waited until we were the last people in the room and then a young American woman asked us up to the window. She was nice but official. She asked us to raise our right hands and swear to tell the truth...our daughter did this too which made the woman laugh. Then she asked if we had any children together...we said yes..Hailey. Then she asked us if Orville had any other kids...he said no. Then she asked us when and where we met...we said FDR in Jan of 2005. She asked how often I came to Jamaica and we said 9 times in the last 3 years. She asked if we knew our wedding date and we said February 13, 2010 and then she looked at us and said we were approved and congratulations...that was it...we were not asked questions separately...and then we took the paper to DHL where we were paid our 750JA fee and were told we would receive the visa within 2-12 days. No visa yet...just a waiting game now...but a rewarding experience for us...we made it through!!
